State holidays and religious calendars in Belarus

Public holidays in Belarus are established by presidential decree. The national calendar recognises both Western Catholic Christmas (25 December) and Eastern Orthodox Christmas (7 January) as official non-working days. The calendar also includes Radunitsa (an Orthodox memorial day observed on the second Tuesday after Easter), Victory Day (9 May), and Independence Day (3 July).

The school calendar is structured uniformly across the country by the Ministry of Education into four study terms (quarters). Winter holidays span both Christmases and New Year, with first- and second-grade pupils receiving an additional one-week break in February.
