World Children's Day and regional holiday variations in Thuringia

World Children's Day (20 September) was enacted as a statutory statewide public holiday by the Thuringian state parliament in 2019, emphasizing time for families and children.

Corpus Christi (Fronleichnam) is not a statewide public holiday, but remains in force in historically Catholic parts of Thuringia, most notably across the Eichsfeld district. Carnival days like Rosenmontag are regular workdays, with schools closing only if they allocate a flexible holiday.
