Corsican school calendar and Festa di a Nazione

In Corsica, the education authority (Académie de Corse) establishes an autonomous school calendar independent of the mainland A, B, and C zones, adapted to the island's rhythm.
The Festa di a Nazione is celebrated on 8 December (Feast of the Immaculate Conception), chosen as the island's patroness at the Consulta of Orezza in 1735. Holy Week is marked by the solemn nighttime penitential procession of the Catenacciu in Sartène on Good Friday.
