Abolition of slavery and Islamic observances in Mayotte

Mayotte celebrates the Abolition of Slavery on 27 April as an official public holiday, commemorating the historic 1848 decree.
The island calendar officially integrates major Islamic observances, including Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha (Aïd el-Kébir), and the Prophet's Birthday (Maoulida). School term dates are determined by the Rectorate of the Academy of Mayotte.
