Nijmegen Marches and Battle of Arnhem

In Gelderland, the largest province by land area, school holiday schedules are divided between the Central and South regions. The province encompasses the famous Hoge Veluwe National Park.

In July, Nijmegen hosts the International Four Days Marches (Nijmeegse Vierdaagse), the world's largest walking event, alongside the annual Vierdaagsefeesten festival. In September, Arnhem solemnly commemorates the 1944 Battle of Arnhem (Operation Market Garden).
