Day of the German-speaking Community and King's Feast

The Day of the German-speaking Community (Deutschsprachige Gemeinschaft) is celebrated on 15 November, coinciding with the King's Feast (Festtag des Königs). The holiday honours the constitutional autonomy of the German-speaking area of East Belgium (including Eupen, Saint Vith, and Kelmis).

The government of the German-speaking Community in Eupen establishes the academic calendar for German-medium schools. Culturally, East Belgium celebrates traditional Rhenish carnival with Rose Monday (Rosenmontag) parades.
