Independence Day and holidays in Jura

The Canton of Jura celebrates the Fête de l'Indépendance on 23 June as an official cantonal public holiday, commemorating the historic plebiscite of 23 June 1974 that led to the creation of Switzerland's 23rd canton.
As a predominantly Catholic canton, major church solemnities are statutory non-working days. School holidays are established by the cantonal education service.
