Patron saint days across Emilia-Romagna capitals

In Emilia-Romagna, each provincial capital observes its patron saint's day as a municipal public holiday: Bologna celebrates San Petronio (4 October), Modena honours San Geminiano (31 January), Parma marks Sant'Ilario (13 January), Reggio Emilia observes San Prospero (24 November), and Ravenna celebrates Sant'Apollinare (23 July).
The school calendar is regulated by decree of the Emilia-Romagna regional government, ensuring at least 200 teaching days between mid-September and early June while accommodating each municipality's patron saint holiday.
