Festa del Piemonte, Turin Farò, and Carnival break

Piedmont established the Festa del Piemonte on 19 July (Regional Law no. 15/2022) to commemorate the historic Battle of Assietta fought in the Cottian Alps in 1747. In Turin, patron saint San Giovanni Battista is celebrated on 24 June, preceded on its eve by the lighting of the traditional Farò bonfire in Piazza Castello. Novara celebrates San Gaudenzio on 22 January and Alessandria observes San Baudolino on 10 November.

The school calendar is established by the Region of Piedmont, traditionally including a regional winter Carnival break across all schools.
