Aragon Day and Fiestas del Pilar in Zaragoza

Aragon Day (23 April) celebrates the Feast of Saint George (San Jorge), traditional patron saint of the historic kingdom and autonomous community, associated with the legendary 1096 Battle of Alcoraz. In Zaragoza, the central celebration of the year is the Fiestas del Pilar around 12 October, featuring the massive Flower Offering to the Virgen del Pilar.

The school calendar is coordinated by the regional education department of Aragon, incorporating local holidays for regional and provincial festivals.
