Melilla Day, Virgen de la Victoria, and Islamic holidays

Melilla Day (17 September) marks the city's incorporation into the Crown of Castile in 1497. The autonomous city features a diverse multicultural calendar integrating Christian observances, including patroness Virgen de la Victoria (8 September), and the two major Islamic solemnities: Eid al-Fitr (end of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice / Aid El Kebir).

The Spanish Ministry of Education manages Melilla's school calendar, scheduling holidays across the city's diverse cultural and religious communities.
